Coming from a strong musical background growing up and training with jazz musicians in West London, Jamie started his synthesizer and record collection back in the early 1980’s. His passion for electronic music and the art of mixing records has been with him ever since.
In 1986 Jamie moved to Bristol, one of the most buzzing and musically influential cities in the UK. Here he continued his keyboard training with renowned jazz pianist Dave Buxton and performed as a keyboard player for a number of bands during the early 1990’s.
Building his own career as a solo artist and DJ he spent several years working in specialist record shops and promoting club nights with life-long friend and production partner; Jesse Rose - with whom he also hosted a popular a radio show in Bristol and guest shows on Kiss FM in London.
Having built up a strong catalogue of studio productions Jamie Anderson founded the Artform label and made his debut solo release with the “Prototype EP” in 1997. This led to Jamie signing to Orlando Voorn’s infamous Slam Dunk label and to Dave Angel’s highly respected Rotation label with a number of top-selling tracks and remixes.
He continued to release his most experimental and pioneering works on Artform, culminating in a series of highly acclaimed releases, including the ‘Abstract Latinism’ series, ‘Can’t Stop’ and ‘Dreams’. By 1999 the label was a huge success, with many of the releases being signed to major labels and numerous big-name DJ mix compilations.
In 2001 Jamie signed to the NRK record label for the release of his debut artist album ‘Blue Music’, the ‘NRK Singles Collection Vol. 4’ Mix CD and ‘Nite:life 013’ Mix CD. These were then followed by a succession of hot productions on the label including his massive ‘Black Sun’ single and infectious Twisted Pair ‘Horny Hustle’ remixes.
During this time Jamie also gained global recognition for his productions on Hooj, Front Room, Outland and 100% Pure record labels which furthered his fan-base and gave him the opportunity to continue performing his DJ skills while on a consistent world tour.
Having been on the DJ circuit for well over 10 years with regular appearances at the mid 90’s super-club; Lakota, to high-profile performances at the Love Parade San Francisco, Dance Valley Festival, Pacha Buenos Aires, Zouk Singapore and Loveland in Holland, Jamie has established himself internationally as a highly respected and in-demand artist.
Recently he has taken his productions on stage with outstanding live performances at the Panoramabar in Berlin, Hotel Arena in Amsterdam and Sonar Festival as well as supporting Primal Scream and Razorlight for Channel 4’s Transmission TV show. The response from these performances has led to Jamie now incorporating his live act into many of his DJ sets, expertly mixing vinyl, CDs, laptops and synths to create his own unique sound.
Anderson's latest label project ‘Fixia’ combines elements of Acid House, Electro and Minimal delivering a deeper, darker and more futuristic output for his productions. Initial releases of the ‘Short Stories’ and ‘Counter Strike’ EPs have already gained massive support.
New material is released on vinyl and CD formats each month, back catalogue releases also available from online digital download stores. Jamie currently performs weekly at club venues and festivals across the UK, Europe and whilst on tour in Asia, USA and South America.
